Introduction
Samsung never misses a chance to surprise us by launching its flagship smartphones every year. Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship phone in early 2022. Some leaks of the awaited Samsung Galaxy S22 show off its curved design and even a camera with no fewer than five lenses. The smartphone is tipped for a 120Hz display, ultra-fast chip with its own cooling fan mostly, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 898 chip, and many more interesting features.
The company launches a new Galaxy S series mobile every year without fail, which is why the Galaxy S22 is expected to launch in early 2022. The release date for the new Samsung Galaxy S22 is not out yet but we can guess it to be in the market by the end of January 2022. Samsung has created a lot of suspense with Galaxy S22’s release date, price, features, and more.
Possibility of a LTPO display with S22 smartphone
All Samsung phones are renowned for their crisp displays. Although we might see slightly different screen sizes with the Samsung Galaxy S22 range as compared to the Galaxy S21. Multiple sources are claiming that the Galaxy S22 will have a 6.06-inch screen which is down from 6.2 inches on the S21. Along with that, the Galaxy S22 Plus is said to have a 6.55-inch down from 6.7 and the S22 Ultra might have a 6.81-inch.
According to sources and from what we have heard the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have an LTPO display. It means that S22 Ultra will be able to support variable refresh rates. It gives the device the ability to scale up to maximum refresh rate when needed, then scale back down to a lower refresh to save battery life. We can also expect 120Hz refresh rates paired with an FHD+ resolution on the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus, and a QHD+ one on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The arrival of an under-display camera
Another fresh design upgrade that can be seen on the new Galaxy S22 range is an under-display camera. The internal display of Galaxy S22’s would pop up and fill in the punch hole whenever the selfie camera is not in use. This will create a completely uninterrupted, edge-to-edge display. The use of an under-display could give the Samsung Galaxy S22 a huge advantage over its rivals.
Camera setup that will keep up the bars high
Samsung has always given the market some of the best flagship smartphone cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to be the main highlight in the camera department. It features Samsung's most advanced Pro-grade technology, comprising a quad rear configuration. The S22 is expected to take things a notch higher with rumours of boasting five lenses. Also, the S22 and S22 Plus are said to offer 3x optical zoom, and the S22 Ultra is both 3x and 10x.
Few reports are suggesting that Samsung would not be including a 200MP sensor. Instead, it will go for a 108MP sensor with a polish that has not been seen on previous versions. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is rumoured to have a 108MP main camera, two 12MP telephoto ones, and a 12MP ultra-wide. While the other two models will have a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP telephoto.
Samsung S22 now with pen support
In order to give the S22 Ultra a note-like experience, Samsung might add an S Pen and slot. Since this feature was also offered with Galaxy S21, it makes complete sense to integrate it with the new blockbuster S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra could have a similar design to the Galaxy Note series. It can have a more squared-off look along with a wider aspect ratio. This will allow more space to write and use the S Pen. It is not yet confirmed if Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus would be supported with S Pen.
Hiked up performance with snapdragon 898
The main chip powering the Galaxy S22 could be the new Snapdragon 898. Samsung confirmed that some markets will be getting the Snapdragon 898 SoC while other markets will get the Exynos 2200 SoC in the Galaxy S22 series. With the combination of powerful Snapdragon 898 and amazing graphics, Samsung Galaxy S22 series is ready to deliver quality results.
Samsung S22 release date in New Zealand
We can expect Samsung to follow a similar schedule to its 2021 plans and launch the new line in Mid-February. Samsung moved up the launch date of the Galaxy S21 to 9 Feb and can release the smartphone at 25th of Feb. However, there is no guarantee that Galaxy S22 will be exactly on the lines of the previous launch, it could be in last of January or in the first week March as well. Samsung is all set to go into mass production soon and give the smartphone market another hit Galaxy flagship.
