Oppo Find N - The much-awaited foldable phone by Oppo
The worldwide smartphone market has changed rapidly over the past decade. With superior technology at the industry’s disposal and the increasing standard of living of people, we have seen a fresh wave of development in smartphones. Oppo in its Inno Day 2021 event, launched its first-ever foldable phone, Oppo Find N. The resultant product is a result of heavy investment in Research and Development for the last four years.
Oppo has gone through 6 generations of prototypes across all these years in order to finalize its product. According to Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer at Oppo, since the last few years, they have been experimenting with various factors, display materials, aspect ratios, and hinge designs. Oppo Find N has helped the company embark on its journey of foldable mobile phones.
Best Hinge solving the crease problem to an extent
In order to create an unmatched user experience, Oppo has maintained its focus on efficiency, durability, and utility while designing Find N. One of the major problems with the foldable phones available in the market is that of overall phone durability and the crease formed at the centre of the folding display when it is unfolded.
Oppo through its heavily patented Flexion Hinge design has managed to make a major breakthrough and solve this pain point. According to Oppo, this flexion hinge ties 136 components together with a precision of up to 0.1mm which would be functioning as smooth as a human joint. This unique design has also enabled the phone to shut folds without leaving any gap in between the two half of the display and appear as one flat seamless screen.
Everything about the display and aspect ratio
Oppo Find N comes with a 12-layer Serene Display including a 0.03mm thin Flexion UTG (Ultra-thin glass) layer which ensures durability. The folded version has an OLED cover display which comes in a size of 5.49 inches and features an 18:9 aspect ratio. The folding display brings the screen to body ratio of 90.7%. The unfolded version has a 7.1-inch LTPO display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The company claims that the device provides an overall smooth folding experience with negligible crease and can be folded over 200,000 times. The back panel comes with protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The right weight and perfect design make it handy for a smooth user-friendly experience.
Specification of Oppo Find N
The Oppo Find N comes with the following key specification which makes it stand out from the crowd.
The camera of the new foldable phone
There is a triple-camera setup at the backside of Find N which includes a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, 16-MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13 MP telephoto lens. There is a selfie camera in both the inner and outer screens. As the device can stand on its own, it would be easier to make 4K videos and do a video call without actually needing a tripod or something else to hold the device.
Snapdragon 888 processor on the job
The inclusion of Snapdragon 888 ensures that the device runs flawlessly
without any hiccups. Find N comes in two variants: 12GB RAM with 512
GB storage or 8GB RAM with 256 GB storage which makes multitasking much more fun for the user.
Battery and charging
Find N is fueled by a 4500 mAh battery and also supports 33W SuperVOOC Flash charge technology, which would ensure that the users get much more time to use their gadgets without worrying about the draining battery. A 15W AirVOOC wireless charging is also supported and compatible with Qi chargers.
Pricing of Oppo foldable smartphone
The price of the top model of the Find N which comes with 12GB RAM and 512 GB storage is around 2000 AUD while the other variant is comparatively cheaper at around 1700 AUD.
The launch of Find N has raised the benchmark in the foldable phones segment of the smartphone industry. Oppo has customized features in its new model and solved plenty of obstacles that were hindering the success of the existing foldable devices like the Samsung Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. Find N not only solves this problem but tops it up with some amazing features. It is being rightly hailed as one of the best foldable phones in the industry right now.
